Welcome to Science, the Keenoy Way

Congratulations and welcome to Science with yours truly! There are a few big ideas that you will learn about me this year and one is that I am a science NERD. Every week we will explore the phenomena that is science through hands on activities and investigations. To go along with those things that engage your 5 senses, you will also have a chance to work in small groups showing your classmates and myself what you have gained doing this time in stations. You are reading this blog now because part of your weekly activities will be to respond to a question that I have posted on this blog and to also comment on one classmates post...Overwhelmed yet?

If you are worried about these words post and comment, no worries! A second big idea that you will learn about me this year is that I am a technology GEEK and I love to use it while in our classroom. We will have the whole of the school year to practice this form of communication and for the first few weeks we will practice these skills together and then slowly you will begin to write your own thoughts!

Again, welcome to my class and I want you to know that I am so excited to spend the 5th grade with you!

Weather Day or Night

This week we move into the second big idea for Earth and Space - ta da! Weather!

Our observations about the weather have been helping us to get dressed and to be prepared since the beginning of time (maybe it even helped the cavemen to design those stylish and practical furs).

In a world of ever changing and available technology, the weather has been upgraded too! There are many websites that allow you to be better prepared to adapt to the ever changing conditions.
